Contraindications:
Percussive massage is effective and considered quite safe, but it is to be taken seriously. Always consult with your physician. If you are unsure or uncomfortable, please discontinue use. Do not use over bruised tissue, blood clots, varicose veins, on the lips, anus, or genitals. Do not use on children. Do not use in combination with another therapy such as electrical stimulation.
Percussive massage is contraindicated for:
- Lumbar Injuries
- Cardiovascular Diseases
- Pregnancy
- Advanced level of diabetes with complications such as neuropathy or retinal damage
- Certain types of chronic back pain or injuries (always consult your medical practitioner!)
- When taking blood thinning medication
- Pace-makers
- Epilepsy
- Recent surgery
- Recent joint replacement
- Metal pins or plates
- Herniated disks
- Spondylolisthesis or spondylosis
